Monkeypoint
Has anyone had issues with RRF overtaking their tank or are they relatively easy to manage (compared to duckweed that has been impossible to get rid of).
JettsPapa
It certainly wasn't a problem for me. I bought a handful at the local LFs and distributed it between several tanks. Within a month or two it was all dead.
anewbie
They can take over the tank but unlike duckweed they are easy to get rid of - i routinely throw away a large amount during my weekly water change; but since they are a larger plant i could easily remove them from the aquarium. The headache with duckweed is that it is very difficult to remove 100% of it - esp from a larger aquarium - though a good surface current will really dampen it (as well as most floaters). Tommy Vercetti
Not a problem for me. I propagated a lot of red root floaters in my high tech tank a few months ago. After that, I removed them and placed them in my low tech tanks, no problems at all.
