Pepere
https://www.misterrogers.org/watch/ Not a terribly impressive Aquascape either… and the way he shakes the food container as a salt shaker always gets me. But I still love watching him with my grandson. I still have fond feelings and a lot of appreciation for all of Mister Rogers work and care for us as kids…

Pepere
Nope. I just watch the original series. Ever first Monday of the month Fredrogers.org posts 5 episodes from the early years when I was young. The third Monday of the month they post 5 episodes from when my kids were growing up.
NOLANANO
From what I can identify he has: 1) 3 Angel Fish 2) a Gold Fish 3) 3 Skirt Tetra (maybe?) 4) a Platy 5) an Opoline Gourami 6) a Black Molly 7) some unidentified dither fish 8) at least one Cory All in what looks like possibly a 10 gallon. Maybe a little bigger but definitely smaller than a 20 gallon. Edited April 3 by NOLANANO
Cinnebuns
One time Mr. Rodgers met a blind kid. The kid expressed that he was worried Mr. Rodgers wasn't feeding the fish since he couldn't SEE him feeding them. That's why he always said "I'm feeding the fish" and shook the food. Also, I'm going to assume the fish had a different tank they lived in but were moved to a set tank for filming. I don't recall ever seeing any algae or signs that the tank was run regularly.
Pepere
The tank was set up for a filming run and then taken down. In the early years they made many many weeks of shows in a year. They also went years with no new episodes. In later years they only made 2-4 weeks of shows a year. I am not even sure they maintained a tank when not filming. They might have simply contracted with a company to come set them up.. I notice that from week to week, the tank population changes. A sharp eyed kid back in the day might have assumed Mister Rogers was not a terribly successful fish keeper… This is the first time I have seen the tank so inappropriately filled. I have seen some odd 0airings before. While 3 Angels in this size tank is a bit much on its own these were also some very big angels… Also, sometimes you seed food drifting down and fish scurrying around eating… and sometimes Mister Rogers shakes the container and the fish dont do anything…

MAC
I think the tank worked out because the fish were all good neighbors

Ah, I was going to tell that story. My wife was a huge fan of Fred Rogers. She watched him a lot when her 3-year old brother died. No other word to describe the man than "comforting." And this anecdote fits Rogers to a T.

Better than overfeeding… When I first got a tank at around 6 years old I pulled the screw on cap and went to feed the fish like I always saw my mentor do on tv…. I never tried that again after that… I chuckle now with my Hikari freeze dried blood worms and Daphnia with a shaker cap…

I remember watching that show growing up too. I've always appreciated so many things about it. I watched what I thought was the right one today. Then came back to the thread and realized what I watched was different. I watched Won’t You Be My Neighbor? All footage was Fred Rogers and people involved in his show. No Hollywood actors. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! There were some scenes of the fish tank, of course. Looked like some rainbowfish 🌈 🐟 in there. One scene was when they were setting up the set for the episode, and they wheeled the fish tank in on a cart. And there was an episode where a fish had died. He could have certainly removed the fish from the tank off camera, but not him. He took it as an opportunity to teach kids about death. With utmost care he buried the fish outside. He had some very deep lessons for sure. Issues addressed that parents may not speak with their kids about, but are still important. Some of the episodes were shot during the war, the JFK assassination, etc. He included current events in the discussions between the puppets. To describe the documentary in one word: powerful. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Edited April 8 by Chick-In-Of-TheSea
