Jacob Hill-Legion Aquatics
I have some golden white cloud minnows and they breed for me quite often but I never fed them small fry foods so I only got a couple to raise uP. I’d like to see how many I can raise now so I’m setting up a 10 gallon with a bunch of java moss and I’m gonna feed lots of fry foods but I was wondering how do I sex them? And what male to female ratio should I have in a 10 gallon? I was hoping to colony breed them like I did in my pond, would that be possible? (A couple pictures of my white clouds, I’d like to get some more because over the years I’ve had sickness in the tank and 1 or 2 jumped so I’m only down to 4)
Cmike15
From the coop articles on White Cloud Minnows, i've read it at some point when i got some. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/white-cloud-mountain-minnow-care The article says it but i've noticed when mature the females are plumper and the males are more colorful especially with good foods. 1
WhitecloudDynasty
If both are skinny ..female will have a longer white belly vs males. I recommend starting with your best 2 pair

I recommend starting with your best 2 pair Thanks I have a pair right now that are really healthy and fat one looks female and one looks male. They are doing the flair dance that white clouds do does that mean they are both male?
Reneenay
The females have a plump belly and are a little less flashy. It's hard to tell until they're mature. The males are more streamline. I've never had golden white clouds but I've had standard and currently I'm raising my own fry from my Vietnamese white cloud minnows. I fed the newborns infusoria and first bites then once they're big enough to swim around fast I give them frozen baby brine shrimp using an eye dropper and a few feeding rings. They know when it's time too eat they swim over to the feeding rings and swarm soon as I drop some in. So 🥰 cute!

Also I watched a video and turns out I have 2 males so I need to go buy a couple females before I can breed them.

They are fresh water microorganisms that eat bacteria that are eating organic materials that are breaking down. People use them often to feed (baby) fry fish.
