Is it safe/ok to leave plant I purchase from Aquarium Co-Op as it is in the fish tank?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is it safe/ok to leave the plant I purchase from Aquarium Co-Op (with rockwool and all) as it is in the fish tank? Just pop it in there? I have BiOrb aquarium which has like little volcanic rocks for substrate and can’t plant any plants down there. I have plants, Anubias, Java Fern, etc. which I glued and tied in there but would love to put some in there which I can’t glue and tie to the rocks, etc.

Thank you and have a great day!

Yes, it is perfectly safe. You can take them directly out of the bag and place the potted plant including the rock wool right into your aquarium.

You could do that. Just make sure you choose plants that don't feed from the substrate. Another idea is getting some easy planters to put the pots into. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/easy-planter

Great! Thank you!

I have an Amazon sword in one tank, and the octopus in another. I never unwrapped them, i just stuck them into one of Aqarium Coop's easy planter. Both are thriving

Ok, thank you! I tried to bury the plant in the “substrate” and it doesn’t really work well. I will perhaps just bury the whole thing in the substrate. : )
