What can I put in a 5 gallon Betta tank

I set up a 5 gallon aquarium for my granddaughters. Right now there is a male Betta and a small Mystery Snail.

I was wondering if there would technically be room for some shrimp.

I would say yes with a big BUT that this could become betta food. Large Amano shrimp or Mexican dwarf crayfish might give you a better chance of survival vs neocaridina shrimps. Also African dwarf frogs sometimes can be just different enough to have a betta accept them.
