Fishy101
Hello, I have three zebra danios, and had two ember tetras along with some other fish in my tank. Unfortunately one of the ember tetras recently died, he was older, but was seeming extremely skinny for awhile. Now, I've noticed one of my zebra danios is quite skinny compared to the others, and wont eat. I have isolated him, and tried to feed him already. Just wondering what is suggested to do? The only things main things I have on hand is kanaplex, aquarium salt, and just some Indian almond leaves. But I can go to the store tomorrow if something is suggested. Thanks! Colu
What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate etc any rapid breathing listlessness hanging near the surface flashing spitting food out sunken belly @Fishy101
Fishy101
I actually just did a water change today so I can get the parameters in a bit He was definitely hanging near the surface and away form the others at times, and his belly is a good amount smaller than the others He is still moving around some in the separate tank right now, but not with nearly as much energy as usual, and seems more lethargic He hasn't even attempted to eat the food from what I've seen His tale is also slightly moving upwards but then he corrects it as he's moving but it still keeps occurring @Colu Edited January 26, 2023 by Fishy101
Colu
It could be wasting disease with what your describing what I would do is treat all your fish with expel p once a week for three weeks and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons that will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes it has also proven increase levels of desloved oxygen can increase the efficacy of medications and increase survival rates I would add extra air stone to your quarantine and main tank @Fishy101 Edited January 26, 2023 by Colu
