Hello friends.

I've been out of the hobby for a few years and miss it.
Really surprised at how much it has changed from the late 90's to 2010s!
The botanical was the biggest surprise, but I like it.
My particular interest is creating a biotope for Neon Tetras.

I have a ten gallon I'm cycling with no fish, using  Dr. Tim's ammonia.
Picking up a used 20 gallon long today.

Very much looking forward to meeting all you and getting my fins wet again.

Other interests: cows (dairy farm background) Mother Nature, gardening, dogs, drawing, and meeting nice people!

Fish wise?

Probably just the neons.

Substrate: Fluval Stratum.

Botanical items: lotus pods, indian leaves, acorns, maybe oak leaves?

Driftwood, and Java Fern and Java Moss, Water Sprite

Is it exactly like the Rio Negro?

No, but as long as the fish are safe and content, that's all that matters.

I'll run a HOB and of course a heater!

Any suggestions, I welcome them.

Welcome to the forum! I'm from MA too 🙂 Your setup sounds like it will be a great home for your neons, I look forward to seeing it all set up! I recently got a 20L and love it! I have Stratum in most of my tanks and find it works really well, but can be a bit of a nutrient overload in the beginning, but after a few months it settles in just fine 🙂

looking forward to your setup!!
