kevincanada Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I have been growing out some local fish store angelfish for the last 4 months and i have lost 5 of 9 due to intestinal blockage. i necropsied one and it had no worms, etc just packed intestine. could it be a bad strain or is it that i fed to much. i tried to keep their bellies round, maybe that was a mistake. anyone with experience in this have any advice or insight? thanks

I would feed a lot and one angelfish would do fine but the other would start developing bloat and slowly die. If overfeeding just remember to keep the water pristine, because water quality can also lead to bloating. 1
kevincanada Posted January 25, 2023 Author Posted January 25, 2023 i have a fish room with 24 tanks of guppies and plecos etc. so i feed the same as the other fish. pellets, flake, tetra crisps, live baby brine. i have grown them out over 4 months and this morning another large silver is showing signs of bloating so i dont know other than i overfed at some point. i wormed with flubendazole and corys trio etc. i wonder if Dean has experienced this sort of thing? cheers
