Two types of ludwigia I love ‘em

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I just wanted to show off some of my ludwigia been propagating the ludwigia  repens for several years and just recently got ludwigia glandulosa var diamond. Quite a mouthful but I was just admiring the different leaf shapes from the repens! This first pic is ludwigia repens in my low tech 5g betta tank2F8F41CE-2B4C-42EB-B1A3-9129AF3B8E28.jpeg.6afa4fd18b1401984a7e41fb5e2cc0ad.jpeg

The next pic is same plant but in my high tech tank with co2 it’s not at the surface so it gets even more golden colored than this pic here 39C093A9-09BC-446F-997A-850B5DC0DB20.jpeg.7aa87325f5c58fafb7ecab96f01c0103.jpeg

Last is the new ludwigia glandulosa var diamond I haven’t had it for even a month yet I have it just in a low tech set up for now but the different shaped leaves are really nice. 10063120-D0B0-4E3E-B224-4341D7073E57.jpeg.5c4b37ac4aff2dfe69c921c480824dba.jpeg

If anyone has some cool pics of their different types of ludwigia please share thank you!

I have some stems of Ludwigia Super Red (believe it goes by Natans) in my low tech tanks. This is a pic of it in my 20 high so it gets leggy in there since the light is so far away. I just pulled some that did rather well in a 4 gallon that I decommissioned but have put it in a new 7 gallon- hoping the higher light there will bring it back. It's really pretty even in my set ups without co2. If you have bright enough light it does get rather red.

I really like the natans super red I got some back when I got my repens but it just collected algae and never really did well for me! I really like the different color it adds to your tank! Hopefully you can get a nice bunch of it going! Thanks for sharing

Here’s my wife’s frog tank with Ludwigia repens on the left. It’s low tech with black aquarium sand substate and was set up in early 2021. The plant was purchased in 2020. It grows to the top every few months and the trimmings usually get used in other tanks. 95417F50-9457-4E5F-A13D-A2CA338B02F3.jpeg.426836ac8f22c230d24ba36e65fd37c8.jpeg

Such a great plant! It’s super easy to care for and can give you all kinds of cool colors even in low tech! It adds a nice touch of color in that tank with the nice greens. What types of frogs does your wife have?
