Pepere
Determining what the bubble count is has been a challenge for me… as a paramedic I would feel for a pulse and count the beats in 15 seconds watching a weep second hand and multiply by 4 to get beats per minute. Trying to count rising bubbles and watching the sweep second hand has been a challenge, and using the mnemonic 1 one thousand has also been frustrating.. But at 57, I have had a lifetime of experiences to draw from.. Setting a musical metronome to tempo I want and then adjusting bubble counter fine adjustment screw has been a treat. Spot on accuracy… 1 bubble per second? Set metronome to 60. 1 1/2? set it to 90 2 bps? Set it to 120… what if you dont own a metronome? There is an ap for that…. AllFishNoBrakes
That’s definitely one way to do it! I use the stopwatch feature on my phone. 10 bubbles in 10 seconds = 1 bubble per second. 15 = 1.5. 20 = 2. For my 55 that I run at 3 bubbles per second I’ve had to use the slow mo feature with a video to actually count the bubbles, lol. I love that you’re pulling from a musical background with a metronome.

I had difficulty payimg attention to the stopwatch and paying attention to the bubbles. setting the bubbles to the beat of the metronome was very intuitive for me. without question there are many ways to get a job done… Edited December 25, 2022 by Pepere
AllFishNoBrakes
I start the stopwatch, count ten bubbles, stop the stopwatch and see what the time says. Adjust from there as necessary. Indeed, many ways to accomplish one job. When issues arise at my real job my motto is always “there’s many ways to solve a problem and I just have to find the one that works best and makes the most sense for us”.
