So I placed an order for 12 koi they are arriving tomorrow. Temps are going to drop. The koi are from 3.5”-6” I have a few options, one add them to the pond, second Set up the giant cooler and full with water and sponge filter, and last put the in the big garden tub until it warms up in a week.

As long as it’s over 32 degrees they should be fine. If it ices over make sure to keep an air hole open.

It in the 40’s for three days but we rarely even get frost on the ground here. I have been here 30+ years and never seen water freeze. If you go north 3 hours it does freeze but rarely. Thanks for the advice. They are doing well so far. Mostly spend time in the deepest spots.

They’ll perk up when the water gets into the high 50s and you can feed some spring/fall blend.
