RetroFeesh
So, my plan was to add 10 chili rasborras with my 9 neon tetras, female betta (rescue and can’t swim very well), and shrimp in a 20 tall decently planted tank. I got them today and they are way smaller than I was expecting. They look like little fry maybe just over half an inch. Are these neons gonna make dinner out of these guys after qt? I’ve had all the neons and bettas in there for 4 months with no signs of aggression.
test.tin
From my experience with neons, they tend to be pretty calm and non aggressive towards smaller creatures. Personally since they are already in a qt tank, I would just leave them in there to fatten/grow them up some more before adding them to your other tank. Pepere
I believe chilis only grow out to 3/4 of an inch just a tad shorter than Green Neon Tetras, but about half the size of true Neon Tetras. I cant quite imagine full grown Chilis being bothered by Neons. Most online guides say they do well together.
RetroFeesh
Yeah, everything I read before hand recommended them together, but I was not prepared for how smol these little guys are lol. qt trio is done and waiting on the two week Paracyn follow up so I’ll have an update when they finally go in.
Smiling Paul
I've seen them in my LFS in the same tank together so I presume they'll be alright. Shops sell most of their fish in their juvenile stage so they always have a bit of growing to do which is good because you can see them develop and colour up.
