Best way to make a tank at desired dimensions.

I'm looking to sell my 2 5 gallon tanks as nano tanks have gotten a bit tiresome for me. I'd like to use the large stand they sit on for something else. The tank could be as big as 33.5x20.5 max. I'd prefer it to be big enough for my L333 pleco so I don't need to rehome it in light of pleco compatibility issues. I've heavily considered making this the first tank I build myself due to the custom dimensions to make the most out of it. Would making this out of acrylic or glass be more advisable? Or alternatively is there a tank out there that would make decent use of these dimensions? I've looked around and havent seen anything yet but im sure somethings out there.

With that width and depth, you would probably need a custom tank made. If you have never done it before, I'd recommend carefully researching. The last thing that you would want is a 40 gallon DIY tank leaking or breaking.

As far as that width, a 29 gallon tank would work. You'd have extra space in the back, but maybe you could house some of the equipment back there. Otherwise, sometimes local fish stores carry odd-sized tanks that might fit.
