KittenFishMom Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I have found the instructions for reverse respiration for plants. I have plants sitting in seltzer in the dark right now. Yippy !! I haven't found instruction for non-plant items, like hardscape or substrate or HOBs and other equipment. Are the instructions different for non-plants? I LOVE this method !!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️ !!! 2
Guppysnail Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) Reverse Respiration was designed specifically for plants intended to remove algae, pests and disinfect plants without doing damage. For hardscape hydrogen peroxide does the same thing for about the same cost. Since RR will kill your beneficial bacteria hydroxide peroxide is the fastest method for filters also. If you wish to fill a bucket with seltzer it will be the same instructions for hardscape and filters as for plants. It will disinfect hardscape and filters and kill any pests and algae as well. It does not clean the algae off the hardscape so you still need to scrub. Hope that helps. Edited December 19, 2022 by Guppysnail 2
KittenFishMom Posted December 19, 2022 Author Posted December 19, 2022 @Guppysnail The seltzer was on sale so I bought 2 12-packs. I have planaria in one of my scud colonies. For some reason I have never had algae problems. (knock on driftwood) Maybe it's the scuds or the snails? 2
Guppysnail Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Fill a bucket with the seltzer and submerge everything. Weight down anything that floats to the surface. Planarians will be gone. 🤗 1 1 1
