Is this normal for my banana plant?

I have had this plant for almost a month now. One pant leave melted and a new one came back. Now I have one turning brown and the bananas at the bottom seem dark compared to what I have seen in other peoples pictures. Is this normal?

no I don't think this is normal because my plant has very fast growth and will send out new leaves every few days. Your plant might not be getting enough light or might have just been bad when you got it. Your plant is rotting and if you see white fuzzy stuff growing in it it might be dead. Uploading a picture might help us figure out the problem.

The plant looks fine. That browning is not a problem. I thought the whole plant was brown and rotting. I don't see any rotting going on and the leaves look healthy.

you can throw in a root tab underneath it to help with nutrients but the plant generally looks pretty fine

Cut off a healthy leaf close the the base of the plant an let it float in your tank. It will eventually sprout roots and become a new bannana plant.
