Sterilizing a used coconut hut?

I got a coconut hut from the display tank of a big box store today. They don’t carry them anymore but offered to give me the one they had in the tanks. My question is, how do I go about sterilizing this thing? Can I boil it? Bleach it? Should I even be concerned about transferring disease on a piece of decor? Thanks in advance for any advice!

You could boil the coconut shell for peace of mind. I dont think it would cause it to fall apart or anything.
