How often to root tab

Hi all,

I gave my plants in my tank root tabs made with Osmocote Plus in 00 gel caps. How often is it recommended to put these into the tank? And do I put these under each plant? I am also using api Leaf zone once a week. My plants had suffered a little and now are coming back nice and green .

Only time you should add root tabs in is when your plants are dying or turning brown. I put my root tabs under the roots or close to the roots below the substrate at least 2 inches.

If you have any crypts, they kind of fall flat when they need a root tab. Whenever my crypts start to droop, I put root tabs under all my root feeders.

i try to do it around once every 3weeks-1month

I don't really have a safe recommendation when it comes to osmocote root tabs, too many cause kill your fish. Our root tabs you can't really do too many because we don't use ammonia. In general, adding then whenever you see a nitrogen deficiency is a good idea, if you see a trend of that happening every 3 weeks, maybe you add more every 2 weeks to bat the deficiency happening.
