Gannon
I assume I'm not supposed to use soap or anything when cleaning these, so how do you do it? Been using paper towels for far too long and recently started using almost exclusively towels like the aquarium coop one.
Levi_Aquatics
I always just run mine through the washer. They never come in contact with the water actually inside the aquarium, so it doesn’t really cause a problem for me.

Guppysnail
I hand wash in dawn and fluff in dryer. Sometimes I’m lazy and use the washer. Do not use fabric softener it causes them to not be as absorbent and leaves streaks on glass. Dawn method leaves no streaks.

It’s definitely a viable concern to have. I’ll be interested to see what others have to say!
JettsPapa
I wash mine just like I do the rest of the household laundry, but they also aren't used directly in the tanks. Only for wiping up spills and drying my hands.

meadeam
I use retired bath towels and they rarely ever get washed. I hang them on a clothesline in the basement between uses.
Remi de Groot
I always steal the towels from the kitchen. So when finished they go in the laundry like all the other towels. Never had a problem with it, not even after a short dip in the aquarium (accidentally).
AllFishNoBrakes
Agreed with everyone that says they just wash with the rest of the laundry. We use fabric softener, scent beads, dryer sheets, etc. I haven’t had an issue, but like most said it’s for things out of the tank. I also wipe/dry my hands on the towel and then use my hands in my tanks and again haven’t had a single issue.
