ND1990
Hello all, Got a trio and trying to see if they’re male or female. I cannot tell if the one on the right is still juvenile or a female got them at the same time. The 3rd one looks like the one in the left slightly smaller. No real aggression, some chasing and standoffs. The picture actually shows the colors more now ironically so from that I'm leaning towards male and female, but will still ask. 1
Fish Folk
I’m going to cautiously venture a guess that your fish on the right is a sneaker-male. Here is a good source for learning about them at a basic level. When you see a mature female, the markings really are quite different than the one in your photo… Especially the side-spot. That’s key to sexing them. Additionally, the ventral fins on female panduros are really black. Side by side, dimorphism stands out… But of course… Apistogrammas have a mind of their own. I’ve been punked before 😂 Edited November 16, 2022 by Fish Folk 1
OceanTruth
I’m not knowledgeable enough to venture a guess, but I like the pics. Apistogramma are so good looking in general. Good luck with the breeding if that’s the end goal!
