That’s what it looks like on the betta. Like the dark blue color is wicking into the light blue areas. True!
TheSwissAquarist
I think he was sold as a ‘Turquoise Butterfly’. Whatever that marketing means 😂! I’m adding some of my Moneywort and a bit of moss to the tank. Any thoughts?? Edited November 16, 2022 by TheSwissAquarist

TheSwissAquarist
Also caught an Assassin assassinating a snail: Anyone know when this kind of pleco is ready to breed? I’ve had them for about a year now…and as far as I can tell I got 2 females 😑

It’s useful but it claims that it comes with a working spray bar that pumps tank water into it, which goes back out via the overflow…better than most though!

TheSwissAquarist
Update on the unknown fish breeding! So far no developments 😑, just as eggy as before… I gave 2 to my science teacher for her class who is currently working on something to do with microscopes…hopefully it has a positive effect on my grades!! Wondering if I want to breed a tetra…my splash tetras are looking great, but my emperor tetras even betta (ha!) and @tolstoy21 has intrigued me with his stories of you only presume that eggs are present for the first fortnight 😍. Like the sound of that! I already have a couple, so maybe after the unknown fish (probably a Cory) 🤷♂️, what’s gonna stop me?!? Polo the Dalmatian has lost his bandage, but still feels a bit sore (although he is a bit of a flower 😜!), and his little tormentor is thoroughly enjoying biting his hind legs seeing as he can’t get at them 🤣. Tomorrows my shift at my LFS, so I hope I can get some decent snaps of the QT area and the coolest fish, maybe possibly even some extra shelf-stacking if you’re lucky 🙃! Note to self: Must remember to do that🤕. Have a fishy day fellow Nerms!!

I already have a couple, Are those the 'couple' in those two pic or do you have others? The two pics (if they represent pictures of two different fish) are both male. Also, there are probably ways to breed kerri tetras where you can see the fry early on. I have just always relied on a heavy moss layer at the bottom of the aquarium, as this has worked for me, and they stay well hidden for quite some time in there before I see the first few daring to show themselves. It's worked for me so why change it up, right? Additionally, its kind of fun and exciting when you see one and you have no idea if you have only one or two hundred in there. I had the sponge cut larger but it alarmed me how far the water level began to rise.

TheSwissAquarist
Quick update before my shift at the LFS: Im starting to wonder if these are even fertilized…it’s been 3 days since they were laid and there’s been no change whatsoever! The emperor tetras might be getting their chance soon if they all fungus. Hopefully some eventually hatch 🤕! Managed to find an Emperor female in my tank this morning; sécable by the colored fin of their back. (Second pic) Thanks to @tolstoy21 for explaining! I’ll make sure to get some good pics of my LFS later. Have a nice day!! Edited November 19, 2022 by TheSwissAquarist
