All the babies (Rams, Gourami, Bristlenose)

So all my tanks are doing good and lots of breeding has happened over the last few months.
It kicked off with my Bolivian Ram babies hatching out on Aug 8th. Then my Honey Gouramis got in the mood and I had fry on the Aug 19th from them. Then just this week I saw a little red dot on one of my tanks and discovered my Super Red Bristlenose pair had babies a couple of weeks ago.

They are all in grow out tanks right now and doing great but I’m been finding various conflicting information on how big/old each of these species should be before rehoming them/selling them.

Anyone here know what a good grow out time or size should be for each of these species?

Although it’s not a science, I typically go for how big the fish were when I bought them, or how big those fish are generally when I see them in stores.

Sometimes life gets in the way (I work a crazy job) and things get bigger than I’d like them to be, but the LFS I work with doesn’t seem to mind, and I enjoy getting to grow the fish out a bit more.

I agree with you both. I have been overwhelmed with fry at one point so I have been able to find lfs that will take them smaller than normal. But on the other hand nobody will take my apistos despite them looking absolutely great.
It just varies place to place.

Keep them clean and well feed and they will grow in no time 👍.

Apisto are kind of funny in that way - they sell for a decent chunk of change; but the number of people with the experience to keep them healthy and are interested in buying them is relatively thin compared to the total population of people keeping fishes. You certainly don't want to give them away to someone who will toss them in their gold fish bowl 😉

There are quite a couple of Bolivian Ram fans on this forum! @Chick-In-Of-TheSea @Guppysnail.

Those Super Reds remind me of my (normal!) BN plecos!8FF3FD0E-7576-4200-A86B-DB819D57722C.jpeg.a073e5d569fe5df6e8fb1d5f6b0a262e.jpeg

Congratulations on all the fry at once. You must be doing everything right. 😁

Those Ram juveniles are cute a heck, but If I walked into an LFS and didn’t know much about the species I would probably pass on them. If they were a little older and colored up I bit,  I would be more likely to buy.
