How can this be the same fish?

I cannot believe how different Miso looks from the day I got him at the pet store. In four months, he is gone from a gorgeous orange candy corn looking fish to a handsome jewel-like beauty.

If you got him from most pet stores, he will be in better conditions. A cup to a 5+ gallon tank (hopefully) and higher quality food, good looking betta too.
