Knew tooth is
Hello All- Any thoughts on if this Dalmatian Molly is pregnant? I read that pregnant Mollies loose their appetite and stick by themselves. This Molly eats with eagerness and has no tendency to seclude itself. I read that Mollies won't give birth if in an active tank and don't have a hideout of sorts. This is an active tank with limited hiding. She is continually chased about by the male. I have a difficult time determining whether a gravid spot around the anus is darker. Thanks.

Has she just started swelling up, or has this been going on for a while? Adam Swarbrick
Hi, If there’s a male in the tank she is very very likely to be pregnant. As theswissaquarist said give her time and she will give birth. In my experience they do tend to isolate a little but that was always within a day or two of birth. She will drop the fry even in the busiest tank but you might not see many survive if there aren’t enough places for the babies to hide. -Adam
Knew tooth is
Hi Adam and Swiss Aquarist- thanks for the comments. I'll keep an eye out for increased swelling. As you say, odds are that the female is pregnant. Thanks

drewzero1
Right before she drops fry you may see her belly really starting to get square-shaped with the corners under her chin and around her vent. Freaked me out the first few times I saw it, but it seems to mean she'll have fry within a day or two... looked like she swallowed an ice cube!
