The Arthritic Aquarist
Just wondering what aquarists in Canada do to treat sick fish, given that Health Canada has prohibited the sale of fish medication and expects hobbyists to get a prescription from a vet? TOtrees
Focus on prevention. Quarantine new purchases. Quarantine or cull sick fish sooner. Keep lots of salt on hand. Buy and keep a stash of meds if you can find them. Do your research before you have a problem. Be choosy when shopping, walk away from anything less than great looking fish (unless you have a quarantine setup). I’ve found some US retailers (mostly on eBay, sometimes amazon) that will ship to Canada, things like general cure. May not be totally legit but if I get my product I won’t be the one to complain.
