Dwarf/Pygmy Sword - Sister Plant Chains

Hi all,  my dwarf swords (from the Co-op) have created runners and spread across two of my tanks (still hasn't in a third, but hopefully soon).  Once the new plants are of size and are rooted, do people cut of the runner stem that connects the sister plant across the chain so that they are individual plants?  This article in the propagation section suggests to do that, but was wondering about the pros and cons.

If I were you, I wouldn’t because I can’t see the point in doing so, unless you’re selling the plants.
