OfficialThomas
I have a 20 gallon high cycled and planted aquarium. I have been using API quick start when I do water changes. Is there any benefit to using it for water changes on a cycled tank? Thanks!
Pepere
In all fairness, I dont perceive much of a benefit in an uncycled aquarium… I would be hard pressed to buy it to use in a cycled aquarium. i have cycled multiple tanks and have not seen much of a benefit from any of the bacteria in a bottle products vs not using them. And that was with multiple dosings in the tanks I tried cycling with bacteria in a bottle. the only people that derived any benefit from the products in my experience are the retailers and manufacturers… Edited October 16, 2022 by Pepere
Wrencher_Scott
unfortunately API can say and advertise anything they want. Take that how you wish. I wouldn't use it. Their data sheet shows less than 1% (<1%) nitrosomonas eutropha and nitrobacter winogradski. To me this means could be zero. It also shows greater than 60% water (>60%) , this could mean 100% water. https://apifishcare.com/pdfs/QUICK START SAFETY DATA SHEET_1612535979.pdf I also saw a chart showing it reduced ammonia and nitrite through a cycle. This chart was a product from their own company. Just being real here.
