MattyM
Hi all - what are your thoughts on the non-flushness of this 20g high stand?
Matilyn
I think the biggest question you should ask is, is the stand stable? If it wobbles, then I would take it back! Aquariums full of water are VERY heavy, and any amount of instability could result in disaster!
MattyM
@Matilyn I can level the stand so the stand itself won't wobble, it's the flushness with the tank I'm concerned about. From what I know, all 4 corners of rimmed tanks must be supported. Maybe I just answered my own question 🤔
Matilyn
Perhaps you did. I would try taking it back at least, and getting one that fits flush. I'm sure your peace of mind would be worth it.
Patrick_G
Yeah, I have one of those metal stands and there’s no wobble. That would bother me.

Try loosening the bolts then tighten with the weight of the aquarium on it. I bet it will be ok. 1
ricbennett3
You could also add a neoprene mat under the tank, even a trimmed yoga mat would level the tank. Rimmed tanks are pretty sturdy, but if the stand bugs you, take it back🤷🏼♂️

Tanked
I would take the stand back. Everything should be flush, and a new stand should not be dented.. This looks to me like a manufacturing quality issue. The 4 pads prevent the adjustable feet from damaging the tile or wood floor. Alternatively, in case you haven't tried this, briefly pick up the empty aquarium and stand together. If the stand is racked (crooked) this may fix it. You might also check the adjustment on the feet. The aquarium should not be rocking.
MattyM
Thanks @Tanked - I tried about everything yesterday, including assembling upside down with weights on top to try to keep the top flush. Once everything is tight, it just isn't flush. The instructions actually say to use the pads on the corners. It's going back today, and I have an Aqueon Forge arriving today too, which I've used before with no issue.
