Pepere
So, is it defined by function, or number of fish tanks? ie, if you had 15 tanks in your bedroom, would it still qualify as a fish room? ifyou had a room that only had fish tanks in it but only 5 tanks, would that qualify? Chris
I'd consider it any room dedicated to fish. When I had 10 tanks in my bedroom, it wasn't a fishroom - it was a bedroom. Now I have 7-8 tanks in a room alone, and I consider that to be a fishroom because that's the only thing that's in there.
Pepere
Is it ok to have a recliner in the fish you to lie back and enjoy watching the fish? 😉

I have a room with 9' of book shelves on one wall, and 5 fish tanks (probably be 7 tanks soon) on the other walls. Is it a fish room, or library?

If you have a cozy chair where you sit and read more often than you do stuff with the fish tanks I'd call it a library with fish in it.
Guppysnail
It depends on what I’m doing in each room at the time I’m referring to it. I have one dedicated room strictly fish tanks and buckets (soon to house a fold out chair @Chick-In-Of-TheSea🤣) and another that is full of tanks but is actually my dressing room. I’m retired now so not much other than a house for my clothing. If I’m dressing it’s my dressing room. If I’m working on my tanks it’s fish nursery room since most tanks there are dedicated to fry grow out and snail breeding. Names of things do not define them for me. 🤗

mynameisnobody
I believe it’s whatever you want to call it. In the wise words of Mitch Hedberg,“THIS BEDROOM HAS AN OVEN IN IT.” 1
Tanked
I defined it as the the room where most of the fish are. My dining room is my fish room. If folks come over I will clear the dining table, and squirrel away the fish junk until they leave. The Aquariums are all on stands tall enough to place them at more or less eye level when sitting at the table or standing.
drewzero1
I don't have a "Fishroom" per se, but my basement office is my fish room (the room which has my fish in it). Never mind that it only has three tanks, and also is filled with computers, retro tech, and scale modeling stuff. When I'm talking to fish people it's my fish room (but in polite company it's my office).
TOtrees
I am reminded of the age old expression, “possession is 9/10 of the law“. Which I would revise to “perception is 9/10 of the law“. To my wife, it’s a laundry room. To me, it’s a fish room. We each know what the other means when the “wrong“ name is used. so, in answer to the original question “what is a fish room?“, I would say it partly depends on whether others in the house/relationship accept as one. It’s not to take away from my hobby being my hobby, but the space in which I hobby is not mine alone. Nor would I want it to be, I think. Part of the fun is sharing.
