Phoenixtx01
Getting ready to set up a brand new 90 gallon community tank... lots of smaller fish and plants. Should I go with 2 aquaclear 50’s or one 110? Also plan on at least one sponge filter... maybe 2. Thoughts?
Sleepy
Optimally if I could get the 110 in the middle for polishing and have 1 sponge on each side of the tank but you really cant go wrong with any combination if you are planning to have at least one sponge filter in there. Phoenixtx01
Yeah I can’t decide if I put the aquaclears on each end and a sponge filter in the middle... in this case it would be the 50’s. If I go with the 110 then I’ll put it in the middle and have 2 sponge filters on the ends. The price is the same for one 110 or 2 50’s

Phoenixtx01
Maybe the aquaclears in the 2/5 and 4/5 of the tank and sponge filter in the corner... should I get one or two?
Jeff
I'm setting up a 90 as well. I'm going to go with two AquaClear 110s: one on each side. You can never go overboard with filtration, IMO.
Phoenixtx01
True that the only thing I worry about with two 110’s is that it might create to much current in the tank
Marc
I'll be setting up an 85g in the spring so I am interested to see how it goes. I am considering a HOB for that one. I currently have a canister and two large sponge filters in a 55g. It's working well.

It really shouldn't be. What does your planned stock list look like?
