CornAndCrawlers
I've never used a spawning mop before but I made a few this morning (thanks to the aquarium coop DIY Spawning Mop article)Aesthetically I just really like the scratch pad mops more than the yarn ones and I was thinking of using those. I know the scratch pad mops are intended for rice fish, but I was wondering if people have had success with scratch pad mops with other species. CJs Aquatics
Never done the scratch pad ones and 2 days ago I just made my first yarn ones but I’m curious as to the results of this discussion as I may also make scratch pad ones as well depending on what people are saying…
K McZongo
I have only been running these with Medaka ricefish I suspect that that they might not be dense/long enough for other species unless you cut the sponges really thin. Fill us in if you get anything to actually use them.
TheSwissAquarist
I tried making my own and so far it’s worked better than the yarn ones!
AnimalNerd98
I agree with @TheSwissAquarist I have raised up about 30 platinum ricefish by using and rotating these scouring pad spawning mops Edited October 6, 2022 by AnimalNerd98
