Stroy15
My gourami's are jumpy today which is a sign for a water change. but I also don't want them to hurt themselves. I already used Kordon fish protector and waited for a few hours with minimal effect. Edited September 17, 2022 by Stroy15
TOtrees
What do you mean being jumpy means they’re due for a water change? Also what do you mean by they’re jumpy? How would they hurt themselves due to a water change? Or do you mean they might hurt themselves if you don’t do a change? But again, how?
Stroy15
I should clarify, darty might have been a better word, I know when my gourami's are stressed out because they try to dart to a more comfortable location in the tank when they are spooked. If they dart aggressively enough they running into the decor of the tank causing scale and fin damage. In this case I did a large water change of around 35-40% because I suspected nitrate was to high for them (it was around 30-35). They seem to be much more calm today as opposed to yesterday.
