CJs Aquatics
what’s up everyone, so I’m running probably 8-12 air pumps (and planning on a few more) in my tiny tiny little fish room. Almost all of them are small battery back up pumps which has came in handy quite a few times. (Upgraded after losing power and losing fish years ago). With that being said I’m trying to streamline what I have to make things easier. Is it time to start saving for a linear piston air pump or a pump similar that would cover things? Just a random question I wanted some thoughts on…
AquaHobbyist123
I would keep the back up pumps in case of a power outage and probably save for a Linear Piston Air Pump, if you plan on expanding. Just my $0.02.
Beardedbillygoat1975
Depends- as @AquaHobbyist123stated try not to throw away pumps. There is an intermediate step- danner makes some larger pumps with 4 outlets. They are good quality- stainless outputs and power is controllable. I ran 15 tanks off 2 of them and could easily with a couple larger gang valves done more. Danner Manufacturing, Inc. CJs Aquatics
@AquaHobbyist123i appreciate the 2 cents I think you might be right, I was going to get rid of all these pumps but I think I will keep a few and start saving for the big boy, I’ll use it one day @Beardedbillygoat1975 I will look into some of the pumps you mentioned thanks
WhitecloudDynasty
Go for it I'm sure you'll save more power with an linear piston air pump. I use a good size deep cycle battery as backup power, I just have to be home to hook it up.
