Also check this out. It’s cheaper than that bulb. I have two on small tank and I really like them.

It will work.  I am using a standard LED bulb in a DIY fixture on my planted 29.  I am currently in week three of a single bulb only experiment to reduce algae.  The only problem so far is the light spread.  Being more directional, your bulb should work much better in the proper fixture.
