AnimalNerd98
I remember that Cory highly suggested George Farmer’s aquascaping book. https://www.georgefarmerstudios.com/book Although this book covers mostly aquascaping, it does cover the basics of a planted aquarium and specific care needs for some plants. In terms of plant encyclopedias, I can’t really think of any off the top of my head without Googling them. It seems like most of the books published nowadays on plants and planted aquariums come from Europe (Germany in particular). I would look for English versions of plant books from there. Good luck!
PineSong
I like Sunken Gardens by Karen Randall. I can’t compare it to others because it’s the only one I own.
anewbie
For description of plant care probably one of the better book (but pricey) is: Aquarium Plants by Christel Kasselmann. One thing to be aware of if you buy this book used is that it does get updated from time to time so you want to check the date of the published book to determine edition.
Rube_Goldfish
I liked Aquarium Plants: Comprehensive coverage, from growing them to perfection to choosing the best varieties by Peter Hiscock. Might be a little too beginner oriented for some of the veteran aquarists here, but it has some nice general tips and explanations of plant biology, plus a very clear layout. I especially liked the species-by-species listing that made up the latter half of the book.
