Help to ID and sexing Badis

Hi there! 

Need some help to ID and sex an adopted Badis some weeks ago. It was so thin I thought it was not gonna make it, but after some weeks of live food it looks quite healthy now.

 

I'm 99% it is a black tiger or sp. Myanmar species, but just to confirm. About the sex, the rounded body and pale colour says to me it is a female, but the little black on the beginning of the dorsal and the iridiscent of the ventral fins says it is a male... What do you think?

Btw, it is an amazing fish, always slowly cruising trying to ambush any micro organism. He is with CPDs, pigmy corys, otos and neos in a 16g long (80x30x25 cm).

I am not a Badis keeper, but I’m wondering if it might be a female Badis badis (Blue Perch)? Here is a photo of one…

Could be, the thing is I don't see the black line near the eye that Badis Badis have. Mine instead have black dots:

I've found an online fish store in Spain that have black tigers in stock, thinking about ordering some and try to breed them in a 6g.

It looks like a black tiger dario to me as well. I'm leaning toward female. Males usually have a lot longer, pointier pectoral fin and a longer looking head. But these guys can be extremely cryptic. I've been breeding them for a few years and still have a hard time telling some of them apart.
