GobyGirl
We set-up a 10 gallon tank in May, switched over to a 20 gallon tall in July. The tank is lightly planted with (5) live plants with a real driftwood tunnel log (hoping to get something more visually pleasing and fake but not important for this post). We have 5 Pristella Tetras and 2 assassin snails that are providing biocontrol for the snail infestation that started thanks to the log. We want to add more to the tank to make it a community tank and what I'm finding online is so conflicting. Even pages that say to follow the 1 inch per gallon rule is giving stocking ideas that are above 20 inches worth of fish! What is everyone's opinion of the following- > 5 Pristella (already have) > 5 Celestial Pearl Danios > 5 Panda or Juili Corys Too much? Would one or two Blue Ram, the 5 Pristella, 5 Neon or Green tetras and 5 Corys be better? We're also open to a dwarf pleco instead of the Corys but like the idea of busyness of the Corys better. anitstuk
Your first idea is good and you could even add another fish. Maybe a Honey Gourami?
GobyGirl
Thanks, anitstuk. We had a gourami when we we first set-up the tank but I think it was too new and not ready for thst many fish. The store owner we got them from said it would be OK. We lost the smallest of the Pristellas and the gourami within a couple days. We're a little hesitant to do a Gourami again but we're learning more too! Does order matter? Add the gourami last once everyone is settled in? We aren't in any hurry.
anitstuk
Add the Honey Gourami a few weeks before you put the Corys and the Danios in so it can settle.
