New Arrivals this Week

Recommended Posts

Got a few new projects starting up in the basement fishroom this week.

Awhile ago, a friend got me going with Killis. This week I bought several trios of Nothobranchius rachovii from a NJ breeder passing through to ALA / AKA / ETC. over in Louisville, KY.

Just set up the peat moss spawning tray. They’re so beautiful it hurts to look at them…

Just in the mail, I’m going to _try_ to breed a line of Notropis chrosomus  (Rainbow Shiners) on their “last lap.” Just one male, with five females. Wrong ratios for shiners.

But you can see why they’re worth the effort! So lovely…

And finally, I’m pleased to be working with a line of Blue Dragon Guppies. I’ve just got in seven gravid females. I’m happy to be patient and wait for fry.

As a representative of the line, here’s an example of what the line can become…

And here’s the gals just arrived exploring their new digs…

Everything looks amazing. So this is new shiners? He looks great, such bold color! If they are a new line are you gonna cross with your others?

Good luck with the F. scheeli !

Yes. Was asked to see if i can spawn these and get fry. Typically the ratio is best with: 2x+ males / 1x female. I’m not planning to cross the lines for now.
