I keep my tanks in my bedroom.

my kids were visiting the other day and commented how they could never deal with the sound of the airstones bubbling….

 

I am 56.  I kind of like it…. It helps to drown out the Tinnitus…

I don't even notice my "tank noise" I have two sponge filters going. It also adds to the peacefulness of the tank for me anyways.

I never thought about that, but my tanks are in the next room and the hum of pumps and sounds of water just puts me to sleep.🙂

im with your kids on this one i use to spend ages getting the filter outlet just right so i couldn't hear the water trickling but it still broke the surface.

Honestly, none of my tanks make any “noise” and I have both sponge filters and hob filters. I see where others post how noisy their air pumps are, but I have 3 cheap Tetra air pumps and they are very quiet

My air pumps are so quiet I cant hear them.  It is the bubbles popping on the surface.

 

despite the tinnitus ringing in my airs, my threshold of actually hearing frequencies test exceedingly well.

I love the sound, I sit at the work bench in my fishroom (as I am right now) sometimes for long periods in the dark. The sounds of water by bubbles or splashing add in some humming from the air pump, saaaaweeet!
