MadGrad
Hi. I have a tank full of only female balloon mollies and juveniles. There are maybe 30 fish in all in a 29 gal planted tank. Occasionally I'll introduce a male for a couple of weeks to help create some more fry. There is a male in there now. The reason for the post is from time to time like today for instance, I see the younger females nipping the rears of the big fat adult mothers. I am pretty sure there is no real harm being done, but I thought I would just ask if anyone has seen this behavior before and maybe explain why it is occurring. The big mamas get bounced around quite a bit and really do not retaliate. It just looks odd. Any thoughts?
Guppysnail
My juvenile guppies do that to the big mommas. In my case I think it is just exploring everything and they explore by nipping everything in the tank including other fish. I’ve never seen damage either. Welcome to the forum.
