Goldfish and Plants

Sorry about the water quality, they just ate. Speaking of eating, my goldfish have eaten Java Ferns, Crips and Amazon Swords. I'm looking for a fast growing plants that they might not eat. I do have some luck with Anubias but they are slow growers and don't do much for algae, in fact the get covered with it and I have to clean them off. Any suggestions.

The only success I have had with goldfish is floating plants such as water lettuce duckweed and quick growing elodea densa my goldfish digs everything up but you don't have to plant elodea it grows just as well if it's free floating I think the best option with goldfish is to get plants very well established before introducing them so the plants have time to buildup a decent root structure

I used to try various fast growing stem plants but they just pulled them up dinging around, 

You might get away with magic bamboo or pathos if set up allows as they won't be in the substrate to dig up

Thank you both. I do have some plants in the filter. I know they will eat water sprite but I will try the other 3.

 Mine pretty much ignore water lettuce, and did not touch the hornwort when I had it in there. Duckweed rarely last more than a few days, they love snacking on it.

Yes, I find that Duckweed is like french fries dipped in a chocolate shake to them.😉🤣. I haven't tried the other 2. Thanks for the imput.
