paul1478 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Good day to you all I have a question in regards to starting fertilization on my 180 gallon tank. When I originally dosed the easy green at the recommended amount the water test showed no nitrates at all. Should I continue to dose until the nitrates are showing up on the test ? no fish yet tank not cycled. 65 plants. Ranging from stem plants Java ferns cryps. Also c02 via online defuser. I have media for plants were the plants are thanks for any input. Paul 1
Kurt Brutting Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 I would dose until you see around 20ppm. It might take a lot at 1st but once you get it up and the aquarium gets cycled and balanced you should only dose after water changes and top offs or when the plants soak it up and the nitrates drop back down. I like to dose everyday and keep my nitrates around 30-40ppm, but I have fast growing plants that can handle a higher nitrate load. Also great looking aquarium!
paul1478 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 Great! Thank you very much. I never had plants so new to me. And thank you for your compliment on the tank. We love it !
CKetchum Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Beautiful tank, I love all the different textures in plants!
