Freshwater from my fish room

Hello everyone, new to the forum and this is my first post. I have been in the world of aquariums since 2003, I'm a type of saltwater and more dedicated to tanks and maintenance of marine fish, I have a fish room that is still under construction, I have saltwater quarantine tanks and a dt of 75 gallons. But inside my room I have space for fresh water of course and over the years I have had many fresh water projects so today I have a small 30 gallon tank with some interesting plants and fish, I like fish that they are more exclusive or difficult to obtain but I like many varieties of common fish too, for example the cardinal tetra is one of my favorites. Attached are some pictures of the tanks I've had recently.

The first picture (are those rainbows?) reminds me of the photos in aquarium books I used to lust over in the 90s. The subdued lighting, established plants, and highlight on the fish really do it for me. I always wanted a tank like that... but I usually ended up with painted gravel and fake plants anyway.

I'm sure we'd love to see your saltwater stuff too, if you feel like showing it off!

Welcome aboard! Thanks for sharing these photos. I share an appreciation for Cardinals. Those Rainbows look lovely too. Nice plant selections too.

Thank you very much, I love rainbows, currently I only have M.boesemani and M.sexlineata, I got the latter luckily because I don't have many fish options around here, I'm from Mexico and this type of fish comes from time to time, but Boesemani and Preacox are always available.

Thanks for saying hello to this thread, of course I know what you mean by those pictures, I really like the style with light pool and bright fish, I'm sure I have a fts picture of that tank, I'll find it and share it here. The fish in that photo were indeed Melanotaenia australis, I had a trio but one pair pushed the other out of the group, so those two were always together. I will show the salt water soon 😀.

I added a couple of Neon rainbowfish, I've never had these guys but they are small and I think they can take a good coloration, plus I haven't had any fish for months, they are welcome in my tank.

So I have an update after a while, unfortunately I have lost some fish, I lost my Sexlineata Rainbowfish, and also several Corydoras as I only have Corydoras wotroi at the moment, I still have some plants but I need to get with my lfs the substrate that worked for my Cryptocorines. Despite my losses I have managed to maintain a good quality of water, so a few days ago I obtained this pair of beautiful Copellas, I'm still working on identifying the fish but I have wanted to get fish of this genre for a long time without a doubt.
