Why are bulb plants not cherished more!
Chick-In-Of-TheSea
After the water change and the generous dose of Easy Green, the aquarium co op Val is pearling. It is showing its appreciation for the Easy Green! Within an hour after getting the Easy Green, this happened. I have it floating: a tip from Prime Time for val, just to get it going in its new environment. I wanted to try a different approach this time since some of my LFS Val did indeed die. I siphoned out the old roots yesterday. Plus floating it helps shade out the hair algae that started. Also look at how perky this little parva is! She was just planted yesterday! She got 2 roots tabs yesterday. I gave 2 tabs to each parva. I love how the leaves look like little spears. Chick-In-Of-TheSea
The driftwood has been deteriorating, and it has been hard to keep the tank clean. It has grown a bunch of black beard algae. I used my credit at the LFS to buy this cool piece of manzanita. I was worried the light color would match the sand, but once it got wet, it darkened nicely. The fish seem to really enjoy this, and are swimming in and out of the branches. A grasslike crypt was added to the back of the tank as well. I left a small y-shaped branch of the old driftwood in the tank since the nerite and Flint like it. Chick-In-Of-TheSea
The long grass on the ACO Val melted, but each plant sprouted new growth using the float-around-and-slurp-up-easy green method. The val looks like this. Now, mind you, I bought 4 plants, but in those 4 pots were FOURTEEN plants!!! And I planted them all individually with root tabs. This is in addition to the LFS Val I still have in there (what survived)! I think in the near future the tank is going to be a lush, green, Valisneria paradise! 🌱 The new growth is strong and crisp. Of the ONE bulb I bought for Geppetto, there were 2 bulbs and one bulb-less plant in that pot, and they are all active. Geppetto found a new tunnel he likes. I put the rock on this leaf mainly to get it out of the way so it didn’t shade out plants, and now he calls it home. 🏠 Edited Tuesday at 12:05 PM by Chick-In-Of-TheSea
Chick-In-Of-TheSea
Hurricane time again. I’m taking a flight out to go to a wedding though. Had to move the flight one day earlier and hopefully it won’t cancel. I had to teach hubby what to do with the tanks in case of power outage. 😬
