TyH
Hello all! I order some plants online about a month or so ago and after a week or two, I found this little guy swimming around. Just want help identifying it so I know what to do with it. Thanks in advance!

Fish Folk
I'm going out on a limb here: Juvenile Jordanella floridae (Florida Flagfish) If it hatched in your tank, the eggs could easily have come in on the plants. If it was just caught in the plants, it easily could have been grabbed from someone's outdoor setup. The giveaway for me is the Pupfish profile + the "camo" mottled look. Here's several Aquarium Glaser photos to compare... (1) Juvenile (2) Mature male
TyH
Just bubbles. This is the only fish that was in the tank.
TyH
Thanks for the help! It does look very similar to the first picture. Hope that’s what it is, flag fish look awesome all colored up!🍻
Fish Folk
Here's a pair I had getting in the mood. They spawned, but I never got fry... You can sex females by their black spot on the back bottom of the dorsal fin...
TyH
That’s a bummer. From the looks of it, I’m thinking it could be a female just because of it having more of a green coloration. Their tank mates look awesome btw! Don’t think I’ve seen those before.

I agree with @Fish Folk on the ID. Seems plant orders from Florida are coming with fish fry as it is spawning season and it can be difficult to remove eggs. Another forum member lucked out with a female golden topminnow earlier this week.
cavdad45
I tend to think it may be a Florida flagfish, if so, you scored. Great little guy to help with algae, particularly hair algae. Can go unheated,

Either they've really started blueing up in the fins, or I just didn't remember how nice your school was looking. I'll have to go back and see.
