Stephen Harvey Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Hello, I have a 55 gal with angel fish and I'd like to add a small school of rosy barbs to the tank. Half the internet says the barbs will be fine the other half says they'll tear up the angels. Not sure what to do.
Steph’s Fish and Plants Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 Something I’ve learned from watching Cory for a while now is at the end of the day, every tank, fish, situation is different. For some ppl, they probably had the meanest rosy barbs on the planet, for others they couldn’t have gotten along more swimmingly (haha pun..). So I’d say, maybe get a small school to start with and observe them, see how they do. If they bully the angels, swap EM with something else. If they do fine, add some more to get numbers up a bit. You won’t know if somethings gonna work for you or not unless you try it. Good luck. 1
Stephen Harvey Posted October 28, 2020 Author Posted October 28, 2020 Thanks Steph! I've decided not to chance it. My school of barbs are quarantining with my neons right now and they seem get along so I'm just going to move them both into the same tank. I really didn't want to try and catch them in a large planted tank if it didn't work out!
