Martinique
Question: now that it has been set up, do neede to add something to the water or should i just let it cycle like this for 3 weeks?
Colu
If your doing a fishless cycle what you want to do is add a small amount of fish food daily or you can use doctor Tim's ammonia daily till you see a rise in your ammonia and nitirte and then they start to gradually decrease to zero and you start see a rise in your nitratesĀ 10-20ppm before adding the Frist fish then add one type of fish every couple of weeks to give the benefial bacterial time keep Edited May 27, 2022 by Colu
Martinique
So you can also do a cycle with fish? How does that work then?
Colu
If your doing a fish in cycle which I wouldn't recommend I have done fishless cycles for 20 years and it worked well for meĀ you would have to test daily for ammonia and nitirte and if you see ammonia over 0.2 or nitrites do large water changes and add prime to help detoxify any ammonia or nitrites with a fish in cycle it more stressful on the fish as your exposing them to some ammonia and nitirteĀ Edited May 27, 2022 by Colu
