Stephan Jones
I am setting up a new tank with a tile bottom. Should I silicone them in? I fit them with a wet saw but there is still small gaps. I have pool sand I could add to fill the "dead" spaces.
Administrators Cory Posted October 18, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 18, 2020 If you silicone them in, nothing gets below them. The alternative is, if you don't silicone them in, you can remove and clean under them if you need to.
Wesley
Doubt you'll be able to remove the tiles after they've been siliconed in place, keep that in mind too if you're going to silicone them into a $1000 tank 😛
Joshua14
I just set mine in there. They look great in my opinion. If there is mulm underneath them I rarely see it except for when I run a gravel vac across the seams. One day I hope to change them out to a different color. Austin Raabe
Is there a particular type of tile that has been shown to work best for the bottom of aquariums?
