I have no data one way or another. I would guess there is some benefit if your water is straight up r/o water level type of soft. But not needed by most hobbyists.

ah, okay, thank you, I'm trying to help my snails live their best life 🙂

(and someday shrimp)

@ApuloNo joke, just ordered myself some yesterday from the warehouse as I wanted to get it going full bore back in my fish room.  I'll probably talk about it in a video. But basically I spend so much time testing foods, I don't get to rotate between all my favorites anymore lol.

That's what I'm doing now, testing foods, most of which I get from you 🙂

The XTreme betta pellets are doing great for my betta but my other tank has a mix of cories, amano shrimp, and tetras. I'm trying to find something that will make them all happy.

The XTreme nano pellets seem to be doing an okay job so far. I dump some in and everyone comes out for the feeding frenzy.

Some fish just don't give a hoot lol. I stopped looking for the next best food a bit ago and realized that I didn't need to find my holy grail of fish food. I'm still not going to stop testing, but now my experiments tend more toward what kind of whacky things I can do with Repashy.

@JoCinWBlet me pose a different question, What is enough calcium? I find most people worry about something without understanding what it is they are trying to achieve. But yes, in my experience it does well with calcium, it has 2.5% on average of calcium in it.

Another product would be like zoo med banquet blocks, it's like 90%+ calcium, however I think this is more than needed by my experiences. I'm actually not sure what the correct amount of calcium intake is per day per shrimp.

I might be overworried, the GH is 300 ppm so the snails may get enough calcium without me doing anything else. I think some are getting ready to lay eggs and I haven't decided if I'm going to let those mature yet, so calcium is on my mind.

@JoCinWBI believe, and I may be crazy, so take it with a grain of aquarium salt. But I find inverts like shrimp and snails do best when they have calcium in the water, to keep their shelves from dissolving. However I believe they also need a source of calcium in their food, so that they can digest it and use it to build new shell. We know that shells on a snail for instance can't be repaired. But you can have acidic water eating away at the shell, and new growth being great because you're feeding calcium. Or instead of saying we know, I should have stated, I have seen in my experience.
