PineSong
I've gotten fish from Aquahuna before and tested the bag water for pH to gauge my acclimation process, but I did not pay attention to hardness. I have hard water and 'til now I've only ordered hard water fish, with zero problems. Now I have some green neon tetras coming and I'm wondering if I need to do anything to help them adapt to my hard water while they are in QT before they hit my actual tanks, the hardness of which I am not planning to mess with. Any advice?
Beardedbillygoat1975
Seattle water is notoriously soft. In general, I have not seen an issue with Aquahuna tetras and acclimation - I have gotten a few types and they adjusted pretty well - out of the tap I am pH 7.2 and gh 6-8, kh 1-2.
Guppysnail
I have really hard water. I followed Aquahuna’s included acclimation instructions and had no issues. Pygmy corydora and Celestial Pearl danio. My ph is 7.6 Edited April 16, 2022 by Guppysnail 1
PineSong
Okay, yay. Thank you both. I will relax and handle acclimation as usual. Very excited to see these little guys in my tanks after QT. I've never kept a tetra!
