Filter floss dangerous for fish?

Greetings!

I have betta and, as we know, they do not like strong flow. So I use a little square of filter floss that goes from inside the filter all the way to the aquarium water. It slows the flow really well.

But I was wondering if it can be bad or dangerous for the fish? Can they pick on it and choke? 🤔

I use the ACO course sponge on my Penguin Pro to reduce flow, same setup as you.  The filter floss will eventually need to be replaced and I just rinse the sponge and reuse it.
